Love and Peace

Sometimes it feels like I pick up the newspaper and read about nothing but hate and violence, selfishness and ignorance.  Of course this is nothing new, but this year especially I’ve seen demagogues gain influence by preaching a message of anger and apartheid, both in my country and around the world.  What we really need is some love and peace.  By definition these things aren’t loud or bombastic, but they have immense power and they can overcome their opposites if we choose to speak for them with one voice.

Music can be a strong messenger for hope and change in the world.  Here’s one such message, from guitarist Arthur Adams.  This arrangement is from the 1969 Quincy Jones album Walking in Space.
